Steve Ajzenberg
feel very open. I was one of the founding members of Rawcus. I am never afraid to speak out at anytime. I’m a visual artist at Arts Project Australia.

Clement Baade
Clem has been in Rawcus since its beginning. He is a volunteer helper in another drama group. He was in other performances such as Nijinsky with RAG Theatre Troupe.

Ray Drew
Ray is a founding member of Rawcus. In the past he was a music/drama, film and television teacher. Ray enjoys listening to classical and folk music.

Rachel Edward
Rachel is a performer, writer, singer, director, devisor and a mum.  She has been involved in the arts since 1990 and has written and performed in a number of short plays and has a passion for improvisation.  At this moment she is the Artistic Director for One Voice Theatre, works with 8 different groups, running drama workshops for people with disabilities and runs an after school drama program for primary aged children, creatively known as After School Drama.  She is determined to create more new work to give herself the opportunity to grab the limelight….which is what it’s all about…isn’t it?....Nothing wrong with that, is there?

Nilgun Guven
A.K.A: Makmop, Nanu, Malcolm-ay, Mildred, Nizzle, Nugun, Nigel, Nil-jen. Nilgun has been involved in the arts since 1996 as a performer, facilitator, artist, designer and musician. Currently she is Artistic Director of SPARC Theatre and Neami Arts Project. Her past work includes RAG Theatre, JustUs, Arts Access, One Voice Theatre. Nilgun also develops community and cultural development arts projects for people with mental health issues/psychiatric disabilities. She has mentored Bee Williamson, developing her script Hamlet's Angel- a tale of madness and women. Nilgun lives in Preston with her partner, daughter, son, brother, dog, chickens and fish.

Paul Mately
Hi! My name is Paul Mately and I was a student graduate for Ignition N.M.I.T since 2006. in 2007 I did the mentorship of stage managing for Ignition T.A.F.E in Preston. In 2005 I did a performance show for Platform Youth Theatre and in 2006 I did F.O.H. GAP media is doing a documentary about my journey and experience through Downs Syndrome and it’s about to be aired on TV and film festivals. It’s also focussing on other people’s experience and feedback about their journey. I’m attending the Bow Wow Festival and finishing Family Dog Circus. I’m still continuing with Weave Dance Company and Rawcus. Also I’ve been paid and did facilitating for Family Dog Circus. Finally I got paid for the presentation of Ballarat Conference for Weave Dance Company.

Mike Mc Evoy
Mike joined the Rawcus ensemble in 2007 and has performed in Hunger and Heart of Another is a Dark Forest. He is also an ensemble member with Melbourne Playback Theatre Company. Since graduating from the School of Creative Arts at VCA in 2002, he has appeared in numerous theatre and film projects, including Golden Valley, White with Wire Wheels, The Time is Not Yet Ripe, and Albatross.

Kerryn Poke
I came from Devonport, Tassie 1980. I joined Rawcus 2003. I done Hunger. I want to be an actress. I started Ignition Theatre Training.

Louise Risiik
I like acting, dancing and singing. I like Cyndi Lauper and the Backstreet Boys and friends of mine. I love the internet and photography. I work at the op shop.

John Tonso
Otherwise known as Tonso. Joined in 2004. His highlights include collaborations with Born In a Taxi, and MSO. He went on to perform with Nick Papas at La Mama; title? Tonso was also a member of DVA Theatre Company. In football, Tonso barracks for all teams depending on which team wins each week.

Danielle von der Borch
Danielle von der Borch is a graduate from the Victorian College of the Arts Drama School and a Grad. Dip. Movement and Dance from Melbourne University . Productions Snuff Puppets ‘Scarey’, ‘ Forest ’, Dance Exchange’s ‘Cassandra’s Dance’, Rosalind Crisp and her company Stella b’s ,‘Accumulation 1-40’, Jude Walton’s ‘No Hope No Reason’. She has performed her own material, in collaboration with other artists, at Dancehouse and La Mama. Danielle has 15 years experience as a Community Artist and worker in the Disability Arts field where she has facilitated, directed and collaborated on several works with Arts Access, City of Port Phillip Access Arts , Joint Council Access All Abilities, Special Developmental Schools , TAFE Ignition Theatre Training at NMIT, Theatre of Speed including performances at Art of Difference Festival. She was an Artist in Residence in schools with Snuff Puppets, Polyglot Puppet Company, Joining the Chorus and Aphids. She has facilitated community performance projects for The Venny and Polyglot, Big West Festival 2003 and Y-GLAM performing arts project 2005-2009 a theatre group for same sex attracted and trans* young people, with annual group devised performances. She teaches movement and drama workshops in schools, TAFE, local councils, Victoria University , Ballarat University , Latrobe University , St Martins Youth Theatre and National Drama School . She is currently doing her MA with the Melbourne Institute for Experiential and Creative Art Therapy.

Kate Sulan Artistic Director
Kate is the founding Artistic Director of Rawcus. Kate has worked as a director and dramaturge with companies such as Back to Back, The Women’s Circus, Stuck Pigs Squealing, DVA, Malthouse Theatre, The Courthouse Youth Arts Centre, Ignition Theatre Training, Arts Access and the State Theatre Company of South Australia. Kate is the assistant dramaturge in residence at the Malthouse Theatre. In 2002, Kate received an Ian Potter Cultural Trust Award to undertake an exchange with disability theatre companies in Europe. Kate was the recipient of the 2005 Fringe Festival Melbourne International Arts Festival award. In 2009 Kate will travel to India as part of an Asialink Residency to work at Daparna Academy of Performing Arts. Kate is a board member of the Next Wave Festival.

Jacque Robinson Company Manager
Jacque has over twenty years experience in the arts, cultural, community and business sectors. She was a founding member of Melbourne Playback Theatre Company in 1981. Her more recent work includes Artistic Director for the Art of Difference Festival (2003) and the Little Houses Project (2004) for Gasworks Arts Park. She is the former Director of Resources and Training for Volunteering Victoria and is the current Director of Cultural and Community Projects for consultancy company Village Well, where she works with State and Local government, private companies and community organisations on place making projects.

Kim Webster Financial Advisor and Bookkeeper
Kim Webster has worked as General Manager of several arts companies, including Theatreworks, the Women's Circus, and the Darwin Entertainment Centre. She holds a post graduate diploma in Arts and Entertainment Management.  Previous positions also include Office Administrator at the Monash Performing Arts Precinct, and Finance Officer of Speech Pathology Australia.

Emily Barrie Set and Costume Designer
Emily is a prolific Melbourne-based theatre designer and a core member of the Rawcus creative team. She has designed Sideshow, Not Dead Yet, Boxset and Collisions for Rawcus. Her other work includes: Rice Paddies (Melbourne Festival, Big West), Crave and The Country (Belvoir St. Theatre) and The Master and Margarita (Melbourne Theatre Company). She has also designed for Theatre @ Risk, Redstitch Actor's Theatre, Melbourne Worker's Theatre, the Women's Circus, Theatre of Speed, Back to Back and Arena Theatre Company.
